Mr P. (Alloy seatpost, Steel frame)

posted May 18, 2015, 2:52 PM by John and Yvonne

My Orange R8 had a stuck seat post which I had managed to mostly remove myself with lots of effort and time expended, and not a little blood!

I thought that my bike was now a write off as I could not remove the part left in the frame, but after searching the web in desperation I found the Seat Post man website. After reading about the service he provides I realised I could have saved myself a significant amount of grief and frustration as I had unnecessarily destroyed my Thomson Elite seat post.

As I live in the Highlands I emailed John about my problem. He took the time to go through all of the options available to me, including leaving the remaining seat post section in the frame, but using a dropper seat post.

After much consideration this is the option I took. Thank you for such an honest assessment of my situation John! I will be recommending you to my cycling buddies without reservation.
