Mr N ( Titanium frame, alloy seatpost )

Having failed in all my efforts to remove the seat post from my expensive titanium frame I was beginning to despair. After trying various techniques scoured from the internet ranging from a vice and brute force to plumbers freezing kits I was thoroughly embarrassed and defeated. I heard about The Seatpost Man from a mate and after a quick but reassuring chat to John “I’ve never been defeated”  I went to Chorley a few days later. He is an engineer and also races BMX and has the workshop to prove it. I left my frame with him for a couple of hours and got the call “job done” and went to collect.

He has designed and built the equipment for removing seat posts and can usually get them out intact but in this case had to destroy the seat post to get it out. No wonder I had struggled. My frame was unmarked and he had even cleaned the seat tube out for me. Superb job and very reasonable price.

Thanks John.
