Having mulled over tackling the removal myself, which would have ended with me getting in a mess and potentially damaging my very nice vintage frame, i decided to turn to the Internet for help. Now there are lots of ideas out there but for me there is only one you should really look at, that is John the Seatpost Man. I drove the 100 miles from Warwickshire, and within a couple of hours John had removed all traces of the old seat post and polished the inside of the seat tube. Since then I have reassembled my bike with a small fortune in nos Campagnolo parts remortgaging the house in the process and facing divorce but if you love your bike it's worth it!
